Young Women 4th Year Hike
TBD

FAQs

Q: Who needs to register for the hike?

A: All girls and leaders planning to attend the hike need to register. Girls in their 4th year of YW Camp are eligible to attend.

Q: What is the cost for 4th Year Hikers?

A - The cost of the camp is $175 and should be paid by April 1st, 2026.  Submit online using the Local-Youth Camp Registration category (site has a limit of $150 per donation, so break into two payments) or pay cash/make a check out to your local ward using a tithing slip with Young Women Camp written in the Other category.

We do not want to preclude anyone from attending due to cost.  If there are concerns about the expense, please reach out to your bishop or a member of the stake presidency. Adult volunteers at camp do not pay.

Q: When is the 4th Year Hike?

A: July 14th - July 16th

Q: I can't come to whole hike. Can I still come?

A: Unfortunately, no. Due to the nature of the hike, it won't be possible to only attend a portion of the trip.

Q: Where is the location?

A: Big Heart Lake

Q: What gear should I bring?

A: Please see the Packing List. No food should be brought from home.

Q: Why are practice hikes required?

A: Practice hikes provide an opportunity for hikers to practice wilderness skills and get used to strenuous hiking. Leaders can also assess if hikers are prepared for the rigors of a backpacking trip.

Q: Can I bring snacks to the hike?

A: No. All food will be provided.

Q: Will allergies and other special food needs be covered on the hike?

A: While we will do our best to accommodate special food needs, these will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Q: What if I don't have some of the camping supplies (tent, camp chair, etc.) on the pack list?

A: If you don't have access to camping supplies and need help obtaining them, please reach out to friends, family, and ward members.

Q: Can hikers bring a cell phone?

A: Please leave electronic devices at home (e.g., cell phones, tablets, computers, music players, gaming devices, etc.). This is your chance to fully immerse yourself in a wilderness experience; we don't want you to miss out on any of it! Adult leaders will be able to help with emergency phone calls if needed.
